2001_Self_PortraitRené Vogelzang's passion for landscape photography is driven by the exploration of his sense of place & belonging. Born in Holland before emigrating to Australia as a child, he has a fascination with the spiritual and emotional impact that different landscapes have on each of us. René has lived in Holland, Belgium and France for extended periods and travelled & worked extensively throughout Asia gaining an insight into the influence of different cultures and environments on our connection to the landscape and its stories.

René won third place in the 2010 NSW Parliamentary Plein Air landscape photography prize

Photographer Peter Solness

The magical quality of Peter's work is as enchanting and as mesmerising as the mystery of light itself.

Using moonlight and his own illumination Peter bravely explores a landscape better known to owls, bats, the illumo-roo and some other night dwellers of his own creation. An extraordinary sense of fun is seen in many of his images, but then he will redraw an ancient rock carving with sensitivity and reverence bringing it to life in a dream filled landscape, amplifying its presence in a world that normally takes such unique things for granted.

The sensual forms of tree and there bewitching nocturnal gardens is another of his favourites and the main subject Centennial Park show

Peter has been a highly respected assignment photographer for more than 20 years, working primarily for magazine, corporate and commercial clients, both in Australia and internationally.  Time magazine, introduced Peter as one of 'Australia's finest photographers' in 2006.
Peter is the winner of the 2010 NSW Parliamentary Plein Air landscape photography prize

                                              Image - Kent Miklenda

If Kent isn't exploring new worlds then he is most probably creating them in his workshop.

Kent is a multidisciplinary creator whose work includes the practices of Industrial Design, digital illustration, sculpture, models, props, and special (physical) effects for feature films and advertising, as well as producing photography.

He adventures to far places on creative projects in pursuit of this art, As seen in his spectacular image of the aurora borealis over Norway.

Through his photography he means to continue the tradition of story telling and is grateful for being introduced to some of the local stories which are revealed to us by the Discovery Rangers, and touched upon through the Discovering Country exhibition.
